Minya - MENA

Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Mohamed Saad Katatni said FJP has remarks on the performance of the government, which he described as \'working in difficult conditions\', due to lack of resources, the increasing demands, security chaos and political instability which affects the performance of any government. The party\'s strategy is not to change the government now, said Katatni, explaining the greatest challenge facing the party is the parliamentary elections. \"Those who want to change the government are wasting time and pushing the country towards instability,\" underlined the former parliamentary speaker. Changing the government means turning the current one to a caretaker government and so it will not do anyting until a new one is formed, added Katatni. This came during Katatni\'s meeting with the party cadres held in Minya to clarify its vision onthe current situation which the country is going through. \"We will not allow incompletion of state institutions and everyone should join hands to build the country,\" he stressed, warning of forces that want to drag the country into violence. The party would seek a majority in the upcoming parliamentary elections through the preparation of 546 candidates, he said. \"We will form the government in collaboration with others, and we will put women in advanced lists that allow them to win in the light of the results of previous elections. Katatni denied that the party is working on a breakdown of the elections law or distributing constituencies to their account, as many said. \"The FJP has the ability to compete in light of any electoral system and geographical distribution,\" he stressed. \"We want a strong police that preserve security, and we support the police because there are those who want to weaken this security institution to bring back the army to political life,\" Katatni explained. The FJP believes that the army\'s mission is focused on protecting the homeland and borders, he underlined.
