US Secretary of State John Kerry held talks last night with his Jordanian Counterpart Nasser Judeh. Talks between the two sides dealt with bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Middle East, especially the Palestinian issue and the situation in Syria. During the meeting, the two sides stressed the depth and strength of the relations existing between the two countries in various fields and their keenness on continuing consultation, coordination and cooperation on various issues of mutual and regional concerns. They also discussed the efforts that have been made to push the peace process as well as the need to exert all possible efforts for the resumption of negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and provide all that would lead to the success of these negotiations, the achievement of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 4 June 1967 lines. Regarding the developments of the situation in Syria, the two sides emphasized the importance of accelerating a peaceful solution to stop the bloodshed
