Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry held a telephone conversation today on the situation in Syria.
According to a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two sides discussed coordination between the two countries in order to promote the ceasefire in Syria and to push forwards towards a political settlement to the Syrian crisis on the basis of dialogue.
Lavrov stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent decision on the withdrawal of the Russian Air Force from Syria would create a positive atmosphere for the Syrian negotiations, which had started in Geneva.
