Khamenei : Recent uprisings in world demonstrate defeat of US policies

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said on Wednesday that recent uprisings in the US, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen and other parts of the world demonstrate the defeat of Washington\'s policies. Of course, Ayatollah Khamenei noted, the Americans are trying hard to take control of developments taking place in the region but nations have been awakened and policies of the global arogance will get no where. The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a speech to a large group of people in the western city of Kermanshah Wednesday. In his address to thousands of enthusiastic people, Ayatollah Khamenei made it clear that the Iranian people\'s presence and firm detrermination is the main criteria in making scientific, economic, industrial and agricultural progress. The country\'s success and social development have roots in people’s movements, said Ayatollah Khamenei. You can find no revolution in the world like the Islamic Revolution where the nation played a direct and essential role in its victory and advancement, Ayatollah Khamenei said. Highlighting the lofty aspiration of late Imam Khomeini and his confrontation with global challenges and injustice, Ayatollah Khamenei said continuation of such a path requires people\'s support and their attention to Islamic guidelines. Under wise leadership of late Imam Khomeini and people\'s support, the Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully overcome all challenges and is now going ahead in its path with success, Ayatollah Khamenei noted. Referring to the prominent role of the Iranian nation in the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, the Supreme Leader pointed to 8 years of Sacred Defense and the nation’s self-confidence in dealing with domestic, regional and global developments. The Supreme Leader also advised the global arrogance not to take a wrong approach to Iran because people\'s will and firm determination play a vital role in this country. Any official who might do something wrong will be removed by people without hesitation, the Supreme Leader warned. Pointing to people\'s key role in the country’s development plan, thSupreme Leader said people can help the country attain its goals ahead of schedule. Ayatollah Khamenei also advised the government and officials to appreciate people and render services to them. The Supreme Leader also recommended the three branches of governments to sternly deal with recent banking embezzlement. Referring to the upcoming parliamentary elections, Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemies always do their best to create obstacles but to no avail. The Iranian nation is acting as an exemplary model in dealing with regional developments, underlined the Supreme Leader. The people in America are against the devastating wars staged by their government on Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the country’s support for the Zionist regime, said the Supreme Leader. Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Americans might forcefully suppress the recent waves of protests in their country but cannot uproot them. Suppression of protestors in Britain is another example of the bad performances of so-called advocates of human rights and freedom of speech in that country, said the Supreme Leader. The world is now going through a very sensitive and historical juncture where the Iranian people along with other Muslims can play a significant role to this effect, said Ayatollah Khamenei.
