King Abdullah II affirms Jordan\'s keenness in supporting peace according to international legitimacy

Jordan's King Abdullah II affirmed on Sunday Jordan's continuous role in supporting peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis based on the international legitimate resolutions. King Abdullah II emphasized, during his meeting with the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, Jordan's support for the path of negotiations, which is based on the two-state solution, Arab peace initiative in coordination with all parties, said a Royal Court statement. On the Syrian crisis, King Abdullah II reaffirmed his country's position on supporting a comprehensive political solution to stop the bloodshed in Syria and preserve the unity of the war-battered country. He also noted to his country's hosting of a large number of Syrian refugees saying that this puts more burden on the Kingdom. For his part, Kerry spoke about the ongoing measures taken towards achieving peace in the Middle East and thanked the Jordanian King for his efforts in aiding peace process as well as hosting a large number of Syrian refugees. Kerry also supported his country's efforts for the convention of the Geneva 2 Conference on the Syrian crisis. Meanwhile, Kerry's visit to the region includes Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian territories.
