His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday held talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on bilateral ties and regional issues, mainly the escalating situation in Syria and efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the two-state solution. The King and Erdogan stressed the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation between the two countries in light of the regional developments. The two leaders underlined the need to work to find a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis, stressing keenness of Jordan and Turkey, as neighbors of Syria, on unity and stability of the country as well as ending the bloodshed of Syrian people. Addressing the regional peacemaking efforts, King Abdullah stressed Jordan\'s firm position that the Palestinian cause remains the core of the conflict in the Middle East. He threw his weight behind the right of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights and establish their independent and viable state on Palestinian national soil in accordance two-state solution, which is the only way to achieving security and stability in the region. During the talks, held over a luncheon hosted by Erdogan in honor of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the advanced level of bilateral relations, vowing to boost them in various fields. King Abdullah and Erdogan reviewed means to boost Jordanian-Turkish cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment, as well as in vital infrastructure projects with the contribution of the private sector in both countries. They also agreed to hold the Jordanian-Turkish Joint Committee meeting in Amman soon. Meanwhile, King Abdullah received at his residence in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and discussed means to enhance Jordanian-Turkish relations in various fields. King and Davutoglu discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the escalating situation in Syria and ways to deal with the growing influx of refugees into the two countries. The meeting also touched on means to back efforts to achieve peace in the region based on a two-state solution, which is the only way to regional security and stability. The talks were attended on the Jordanian side by Chief of the Royal Court Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Director of the King\'s Office Imad Fakhoury and Jordan\'s Ambassador to Turkey Amjad Adayleh. On the Turkish side, talks were attended by a number of senior officials.
