South and North Korea have begun their sixth round of working-level talks on restarting the Gaeseong Industrial Complex. The South’s chief delegate to the talks, Kim Ki-woong, said ahead of leaving for the joint venture in North Korea that he will negotiate with a determination so there is never another incident at the complex that worries the South Korean people, according to Korea’s (KBS WORLD) website. Before addressing the thorny issues at the talks, Kim told his North Korean counterpart that any problems can be resolved if the two sides aim for the “constructive normalization” of the stalled industrial park. North Korea’s chief delegate Pak Chol-su responded that there will be positive results if the the two Koreas aim at making the factory park a competitive international economic zone. During the previous talks Monday, the two Koreas exchanged revised proposals regarding the normalization of the industrial park and were said to have made some progress on the internationalization of the complex.
