Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic began here today a meeting with his Kosovar counterpart Hashim Thaci under the mediation of EU High Representative Catherine Ashton to normalise ties between the two countries. \"We come here with the best intention of to get an agreement between the State of Kosovo and Serbia, \"Thaci told reporters ahead of the meeting. \" This agreement will not be only in interest of Kosovo but also in the interest of Serbia and the EU to go toward peace and stability. I hope that Serbia will work together with us in order to get this agreement,\" he said. \" We are interested in moving from the past and to move toward good neighbouring relations and peace. We have had a long century of conflict and it is time to move toward peace,\" added Thaci. On his part, the Serbian Prime Minister made no statements to the press on arrival. The last round of talks hosted by Ashton between the two sides earlier this month failed to achieve a breakthrough. Germany this week warned Serbia that it cannot join the EU until it normalizes ties with Kosovo.
