
Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Premier Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Kuwait\'s participation in UN General Assembly (UNGA) meetings contributed to boosting the country\'s international status. Speaking to KUNA shortly after returning home, Tuesday, from New York where he represented HH the Amir to UNGA\'s 68th session, Sheikh Jaber said the participation of Kuwait reflected its active role in the international community. Sheikh Jaber, who addressed the UNGA session on behalf of the Amir, said the delegation of Kuwait had an active presence at the UN. He commended meetings of the UNGA, as well as international efforts to achieving global peace and security, as well as supporting development in different countries. Sheikh Jaber said the 68th UNGA session was held in \"very important international circumstances.\" He said he met with several leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, part of Kuwait\'s keenness to further boost bilateral relations with these countries, as well as discussing a variety of issues of mutual interest. Sheikh Jaber was received at the airport by Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Sheikh Khaled Jarrah Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Oil Minister Mustafa Jassem Al-Shimali, Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Sheikh Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, sheikhs, ministers, governors, and advisors at the Prime Minister\'s Diwan, senior Army, Police and National Guard commanders.
