Ties between Mexico and Kuwait have noticeably grown since the relations were established 36 years ago, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mexico Sameeh Jawhar Hayat.Hayat was speaking at a dinner banquet, he hosted in honor of the newly appointed Mexican Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Luis Alberto Barrero Stahl, who will officially start his job on December 23.Hayat stressed in a speech delivered at the dinner banquet, that the opening of the Embassy of Mexico and the appointment of resident ambassador to Kuwait is considered a historic shift in the bilateral relations between the two countries and is the culmination of the efforts made by senior officials in both countries in order to consolidate and deepen these ties.Diplomatic relations established between the two countries in 36 years have witnessed significant growth after opening the Embassy of Kuwait and the appointment of a resident Ambassador to Mexico and vice versa, he said.The exchange of visits from both ends played a major role in strengthening the ties, he added.Among the important visits paid by Mexican officials to Kuwait of importance was the one by Mayor of Mexico City Marcelo Ebrard in October, when he met with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.Deputy Foreign Minister Lourdes Aranda, and Carlos Peralta the head of Mexican side in the Kuwaiti-Mexican Friendship Society attended the banquet.
