
The Ministry of oil announced on Thursday that Kuwait would participate in the fifth Asian Ministerial energy roundtable meeting, with high-level delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Mustafa Al-Shimali. The ministry said in a statement that the meeting will be held in Seoul, South Korea, on September 11-13, with the participation of 30 countries from oil producing and consuming countries. It added that the minister would deliver a speech at the second session of the meeting, related to strategic petroleum reserve in Asia and its impact on the global oil market, cooperation in the Asian oil market, development of technological cooperation and joint research and exchange of skills. The first and third meeting will deal with the importance of dialogue between producing and energy-consuming countries, importance of cooperation between national and international oil companies and encouragement of investment in the energy sector. Meanwhile, this meeting is held once every two years under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the International Energy Forum based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
