
The State of Kuwait's Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ahmad Khaled Al-Jiran has held talks with Chairman of Zimbabwe's Parliament Jacob Mudenda tackling the ditinctive ties between Kuwait and the African nation, according to a statement released by the embassy there on Saturday. The discussions between the two sides dealt with means of boosting the bilateral relations between Zimbabwe and Kuwait in various sector, particularly at the economic and grass-root levels, said the statement, addressed to KUNA's headquarters in Kuwait City. Ambassador Al-Jiran, during the meeting, held within framework of boosting the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, hoped the third Arab-African summit, recently held in Kuwait, would lead to a new chapter of stronger Arab-African ties. He noted Zimbabwe's support for Kuwait in 1990 when the country was invaded by Iraqi forces. At the time, Zimbabwe chaired the Security Council and backed the resolutions in support of Kuwait. For his part, Mudenda praised Kuwait's democracy and wished the country further prosperity and progress. He also underscored his country's aspiration to cement the cooperation with Kuwait.
