Kuwaiti House speaker meets Algerian lawmakers

Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Ali Al-Rashed met here Thursday on separate occasions with the Algerian People\'s National Assembly Speaker Mohammad Al-Arabi Weld Khalifa and his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Bensaleh After his meeting with Weld Khalifa, Al-Rashed said that the meeting focused on means to bolster bilateral relations. He also said that the meeting touched on developments in Syria, the Palestinian cause, as well as issues pertaining to efforts to counter extremism and terrorism. Al-Rashed conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika who is currently seeking treatment abroad. On his part, Weld Khlaifa lauded relations with Kuwait, affirming that both parties were keen on seeking new means to further enhance relations. He noted that both parties shared similar sentiments towards the situation in Syria, affirming that a solution must come to the surface in order to end the bloodshed there. Meanwhile, Al-Rashed met with his counterpart Abdelkader Bensaleh, discussing with him issues of mutual interest and means to bolster bilateral relations. Regional and world developments were also on the table of discussions.
