Kuwait's Islamic Heritage Revival Society provided assistance to Syrian refugees in Sidon City in southern Lebanon, said a Lebanese official here Friday. Head of the Lebanese "Al-Istijaba" (response) Society Sheikh Nadeem Al-Hijzai told KUNA that the Kuwaiti association handed in relief aid to Syrian refugees in the south, noting that the aid consisted of material to help the refugees cope with the harsh winter weather. Al-Hijazi thanked the Kuwaiti people and leadership for this generous donation, hoping that the material would help ease the suffering of the refugees fleeing violence in Syria which began in March 2011. Kuwait has recently hosted a donors' conference which managed to gather USD 2.4 billion for the Syrian refugees.
