
The Asian Parliamentary Assembly's standing committee for political affairs endorsed at a meeting on Monday a number of draft resolutions and submitted them to the APA general conference, said Kuwaiti MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji. Al-Turaiji said in a statement to KUNA the committee referred to the sixth APA conference, due to conclude on Tuesday, several proposed resolutions, indicating that they would be examined and incorporated in the forecast "Islamabad declaration." He confirmed that they address means of boosting bonds and cooperation among Asian nations, protecting rights of expatriate workers, supporting the Palestinian state, safeguarding rights of the Palestinian people, adding that they also call for security and peace in Afghanistan. MP Al-Turaiji indicated that commission members called during today's meeting for enacting laws for fighting terrorism and resisting foreign occupation. The member of the Kuwaiti Parliament said that in his presentation at the meeting he focused on annihilation and killings in Syria, "perpetrated by the criminal Baathist regime, thus we called for intensifying efforts to support the international attempts for a settlement that should meet the Syrian people aspiration."
