
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah left Kuwait for New York on Wednesday to attend the 68th Session of UN General Assembly. The importance of attending the meeting was stressed as it \"marks 50 years since Kuwait joined the General Assembly, to which it bore witness to many important accomplishments,\" the prime minister told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in a statement. Separately, Sheikh Jaber affirmed the importance of positive cooperation between the legislative and executive branches of government in the country in order to achieve the aspirations of the people. \"At the current stage, what is needed is the doubling of efforts and serious work between the National Assembly (parliament) and the cabinet, bearing in mind the benefit of the nation and its people, to support efforts for development aimed at improving the livelihood of people in the country, services and the national economy,\" he said.
