Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad Lahham said on Sunday that Syria and the entire region is passing through a difficult period of change, under the headings of democracy, human rights and Arab Spring, which conceal colonialist projects and destruction, NNA correspondent to Damascus reported. Lahham who pronounced the opening of the ordinary session of the Syrian Parliament, attended by government ministers, stressed that terrorism against Syria is supported by specific countries.Lahham noted that \"the sabotage of state institutions, basic infrastructure and attempt to destroy public facilities, including, pipelines, dams, and hospitals, as well as the assassination of senior scientists and journalists, all these attacks, reveal the nature and truth of projects we are trying to be imposed on Syria. \" \"These attacks reflect the murderers grudge against all the civilzation, history and progress that Syria represents after the refusal of Syrian society to submit to their terrorism and their venom,\" he concluded. Syrian Prime Minister, Wael Halki, for his part, stated before the House that the government fulfills its responsibilities to citizens and seeks to restore stability to the country.
