
Speaker of Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani said that the Islamic Republic sought a strong and long-lasting relations with Arab countries based on good neighborliness. "There is a chance for creating sustainable relations between Iran and Arab countries," Larijani said in joint press conference with visiting Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. "Iran, for its part, is very open up to such a kind of relations." He added that Iran is always keen on strengthening its relations with Arab and Muslim countries despite the few disputes which emerges from time to time. "Time is ripe to reach a common understanding and iron out regional disputes," Larijani suggested. He welcomed Berri and lauded the special Iranian-Lebanese relations. He stated that talks with Berri has focused on bilateral relations and regional and international developments of common concern. For his part, the Lebanese Parliament Speaker described the recently Iran-West nuclear deal as "the deal of the era". He spoke highly about Iranian leaders' wisdom which helped overcome the major challenges that were obstructing the deal.
