Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said met today with Mahmoud Jibril, head of the Libyan National Coalition Forces, who is currently visiting Moscow. A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov stressed his country’s firm support for the sovereignty, independence and unity of Libya and the aspirations of the Libyan people for a better life through a deep democratic reforms and national reconciliation. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation in Libya, especially the efforts of the authorities to stabilize the situation in the country, to restore national economy and to form of a new institutions, as well as ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in various fields.
