
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has discussed settling the political crisis in Libya with his French and German counterparts, Sputnik news agency reported.
"The issues of overcoming the Libyan crisis were discussed in the context of the French chairmanship in the UN Security Council," the ministry said in a statement after Lavrov's phone conversation with Ayrault.
"Lavrov has confirmed Russia's readiness to actively facilitate intra-Libyan settlement, stressing that it must be based on the Schirat political agreement with the involvement all of the country's leading political forces."
Lavrov also has a phone conversation with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, discussing the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
"The ministers discussed a range of relevant topics, including issues of settling the crises in Syria, Libya and Ukraine," the statement said.
