
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, sent on Thursday a congratulatory cable to Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the UAE and Russia.
On behalf of the UAE people and government, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed greetings of strong friendship and relations between the two countries, which have enhanced the bonds between the people of both nations in all domains.
He also stressed that the diplomatic relations between the UAE and Russian Federation have witnessed a comprehensive and strong development since they were formed 45 years ago.
He noted that the leaderships of the two friendly countries have paid a number of successful visits over the years, which contributed to enhancing relations between the two countries and took those to new and distinguished levels.
He also wished the Russian Foreign minister luck and further progress and prosperity in the light of achieving aspirations of the two friendly people. He wished more strength and development to the existing relations between the two sides in the best interests of the people of both nations.
In his congratulatory cable, Lavrov stressed Russia’s keenness to continue exchanging views regarding regional and international issues. He also hailed the ties between the two friendly people in cultural, humanitarian and tourism fields.
Lavrov hailed the strong co-operation between the two friendly countries in terms of foreign policy as it represents a significant factor to boost security and stability in the GCC and Middle East region. He also wished further progress and welfare for the UAE.
