The Lebanese Army said Thursday it arrested 900 people of different nationalities in the month of September alone including individuals involved in smuggling across the border. In a statement, the Army said it detained “900 people of different nationalities, some of whom had arrest warrants while others [committed] various crimes and violations.\" Individuals lacking residency permits, in the possession of drugs, engaged in the trade of narcotics were among those arrested by the military. Those smuggling goods over the border and driving unlicensed vehicles were also among the 900 detained. The Army said it had also confiscated 146 cars, 58 motorcycles, 22 trucks as well as quantities of arms, ammunitions, drugs and other smuggled goods.
