Lebanese FM: Geneva 2 conference only way out of crisis in Syria

Lebanese caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour stressed that Geneva 2 conference is the only way to get out of the crisis in Syria, asserting that its failure would increase violence in the country. In a statement on Tuesday, Mansour said the Syrian government will go to the conference from a position of strength and the countries concerned with the Syrian issue will go to the conference with the aim to find a political solution to the crisis, SANA reported. He stressed that the unity of the Syrian army and establishments in Syria, despite all pressures and flow of arms, is what has basically made the situation on the ground in favor of the Syrian state. Mansour underscored that dialog in Geneva concerns the Syrians above anyone else, noting that Lebanon will participate in the conference if it was invited.
