A Lebanese man kidnapped over the weekend in the Bekaa, east Lebanon, escaped his captors Monday, security sources told The Daily Star. Bassel Mahmoud al-Mis, 55, made his way out a cave in the east of the country where his captives had kept him, the sources said. According to the National News Agency, Mis fled the cave, which was located in Ain Dara, Chouf, and then made his way back to his home in Makseh, Bekaa. Mis was kidnapped Saturday by four masked gunmen just outside his home. The NNA said Mis had just arrived from a wedding he attended when he was taken. The kidnappers also stole his vehicle – a Nissan Pathfinder. According to security sources, Mis contacted the police and then escorted them back to show them the site of the cave. The Daily Star
