
Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri held Saturday talks with Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta, during which they discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries as well as current developments in Lebanon and the region. Letta quoted by the Lebanese news agency (NNA) said that Italy "has always been interested in Lebanon, and today more than ever it shows its interest through its participation in UNIFIL and works to increase cooperation between our two countries in various fields." Berri stressed "the importance of enhancing cooperation and investment opportunities in various fields between the two countries, particularly that Italy leads the European countries as a trade partner for Lebanon.
