The office of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Miqati on Sunday evening held the leaders of the opposition parties responsible for inciting protesters to attack the government headquarters here. \"The inflammatory remarks, echoed by speakers at the public funeral of Brig. -Gen. Wissam Al-Hassan, a top intelligence officer, earlier today, led hundreds of angry mourners to attack the government building and clash with the security personnel guarding it. At least 15 security personnel were injured in the attack ,\" according to a statement by Miqati\'s office. \"We\'d like to show these facts for the public opinion to recognize the parties the used inflammatory slogans to incite the unrest,\" the statement said, without naming those behind the attack. The statement called for respect for the symbolic significance of the government headquarters at \"the current challenging conditions,\" warning against undermining the national unity of the country.
