Lee Rigby suspected murderers plead not guilty

Two Islamic extremists, who are accused of killing a British soldier on the streets of London, pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey criminal court session on Friday. May 22, in Woolwich, south-eastern London, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale attacked with knives and hatchets a British serviceman Lee Rigby, who lived in the barracks nearby. The soldier was brutally murdered in full view of passers-by. The extremists forced people to take them on mobile phone cameras. They said that the murder of a soldier allegedly was \"a revenge\" for the participation of British troops in military operations in Muslim countries. When the police arrived, the attackers rushed to the guards with knives. The latter opened fire and one of the attackers was wounded. Adebolajo and Adebowale were born in the UK to families of Christians from Nigeria, but several years ago became adherents of Islamic extremism.
