
Russia’s Syria chemical weapons proposals deserves attention and may lead to positive results, Libyan Foreign Minister Muhammad Abdelaziz said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday. “The Russian initiative has not been yet discussed within the framework of the League of Arab States. I want to say that this is a very good initiative, it deserves attention,” he said. Libya has reiterated it rejects the use of violence in resolving Syria’s issue, Libyan Foreign Minister Muhammad Abdelaziz said. “Today we expressed our rejection of violence in resolving Syria’s problems,” he said. “We supported the Syrian people’s intention to maintain independence and build a new modern state.”
