Libyan NTC executive board reshuffled, Jibril remains its head

The head of Libya\'s National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, said Monday a new line-up of the council\'s executive board, a de facto cabinet, has been finalized after more than a month of uncertainty. Speaking at a press conference in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, Jalil said some prominent figures will be kept in place and some new names will be added to key positions. He said that the executive board would still be led by Mahmoud Jibril, who would also retain the post of foreign minister. He further said that Ali Tarhouni would \"keep the portfolio of finance and oil temporarily.\" On the same occasion, Jibril, head of the NTC\'s executive board, reiterated that he would resign once NTC forces take control of Sirte and Bani Walid, both still held by Muammar Gaddafi\'s loyalists. He said he would not be part of the new post-war Libyan government, which is still in the process of forming, but would stay on his current post until the liberation of Sirte and Bani Walid. Jibril also said the NTC has preferred not to accept an early resignation of the executive board. He went on to say that the new government will be formed until the entire country is liberated from forces loyal to fallen leader Mummar Gaddafi.
