Libya\'s Interior Minister Ashur Shwail took oath Tuesday, days after winning an appeal put forward by the Integrity Commission against him. Shwail was sworn in Tuesday in front of the Libyan General National Congress (GNC). He is tasked with collecting weapons, enhancing security and stability, as well as rehabilitating the national security forces, Majida al-Faki, a GNC member, told Xinhua. Earlier this month, Libya\'s Appeal Court rejected an appeal put forward by the Integrity Commission against Shwail. Shwail was among the four ministers proposed by Prime Minister Ali Zaidan but rejected by the Integrity Commission one day before they were scheduled to take office in mid-November. Also on Tuesday, the Integrity Commission told Xinhua that the anti-corruption body rejects Shwail\'s oath, saying that the GNC should wait until the High Court rules on the appeal. Shwail, a native of Libya\'s second largest city of Benghazi, was questioned and investigated over his relation with the leadership of former strongman Muammar Gaddafi.
