The Phoenix capsule, which saved the lives of 33 miners in a mine accident in Chile three years ago, will be stored in north China's Tianjin Municipality, the embassy of the Republic of Chile in China announced on Monday. The capsule has already arrived at Tianjin and will be permanently stored at the Chile Pavilion which was moved to the city's Jixian County, after the 2010 Shanghai Expo. The Phoenix capsule, a 54-cm-wide and 4-meter-high steel tube custom-made by the Chilean Navy, helped pull 33 miners trapped in the San Jose mine to safety in mid-October 2010, 69 days after the accident.
