Likud politicians call on Israel to annex area C

Wednesday 2nd January, two high-ranking Likud politicians called on Israel to annex the West Bank\'s Area C, where all settlements are located. Maariv Hebrew language newspaper said that the two politicians, Public Diplomacy Minister Yuli Edelstein and MK Ze\'ev Elkin, were among a lineup of speakers at a Jerusalem conference organized by Women in Green, on the \"Application of Israeli Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.\" The two men called for annexation of settlements but cautioned that the annexation process should happen slowly, not immediately. It\'s worth mentioning that support for annexation has increased following the UN\'s General Assembly decision in November to upgrade the Palestinian status to that of non-member observer state.
