Malaysia to seek more Japanese investment

Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said here Thursday that Malaysia would like to see more Japanese investment in potential sectors. At a joint press conference at the PM office with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Najib expressed the hope that more Japanese investors would participate in Malaysia\'s potential sectors, such as the green technology, high-tech capital industry, biotechnology, advanced electronics and automotive industry. \"We will continue to implement investment-friendly policies and introduce new competitive incentives to further stimulate private sector cooperation,\" he said. In terms of investment, Japan is the largest foreign investor for the period between 1980 and 2012 and continue to be the largest foreign investor in Malaysia\'s manufacturing sector. Abe who is on a two-day visit here, spoke highly of Malaysia\'s \"looking to the East\" policy, which is believed to be the pillar of the cooperative relations between the two countries. He said, he and his Malaysian partner Najib had discussed issues concerning economic cooperation, political security and regional stability during the visit.
