Thousands of Malaysians staged a large demonstration in front of the American embassy in the Malaysian capital and other city district on Friday condemning media works intended to insult Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The protestors, who gathered outside the compound of the US embassy, brandished placards condemning a recently-produced movie aimed at tarnishing image of the Prophet and Cartoon drawings, printed by a French magazine, for the same purpose. Police have beefed up precautions in the vicinity of the US diplomatic mission headquarters, after activists called on internet for holding demonstrations against these injurious works. Nasser-Eddine Hassan, the head of the Youth Council of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), said in remarks to KUNA the demonstrators lodged a complaint with the American diplomatic mission, adding that the message of protest was addressed to the ambassador via a security personnel who was dispatched to the front of the building to meet leaders of the action. He called upon the US Administration to take speedy measures against producers of the movie against the Prophet saying such action should be as rapid as the speedy dispatch of a military squad to Libya following recent death of the US ambassador in Benghazi. The American ambassador in Benghazi has recently lost his life when armed demonstrators attacked a building of the US mission in the city, expressing outrage that was produced in the US.
