Man twice arrested for impersonating cop gets 18 months in prison

A 19-year-old man who was arrested twice for impersonating a Chicago police officer was sentenced to 18 months in prison, officials said. Vincent Richardson, arrested July 23 for pretending to be an officer, pleaded guilty to the offense Thursday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. In addition to the prison sentence Judge Lauren Gottainer Edidin fined him $454. Richardson was arrested in 2009 at the age of 14 for the same offense. Police said Richardson's impersonation in 2009 was so convincing he was able to go on patrol with a real officer for more than 5 hours before he was discovered. In 2010, Richardson was sent to juvenile prison for shoving his mother and stealing his uncle's car, and one year later he was sentenced to one year in prison for aggravated unlawful use of a gun, court records indicate.
