"Kataeb" bloc member Deputy Elie Marouni stressed that his bloc is prudent to secure the Sunnis approval on any law. "It is true that we refused 1960 law but wanto preserve our alliances and we support any alternative that provides national consensus," he emphasized to "Sharq" radio on Wednesday. He hoped that all sides would agree on an electoral law that provides justice to Christians with good representation. "If strong MPs Christians were elected this won't harm the Muslims because we will produce a strong parliament," he asserted. Marouni said that Deputy Michel Aoun would be the first beneficiary of the Orthodox law between March 14 and March 8 Christians. The MP called on all political sides to discuss all proposals, adding that the law that would receive the majority is the law to be adopted. On the other hand, he said that the situation in Lebanon would be influenced by the Syrian crisis; hence the problem of refugees that exceeded the capacity of Lebanon should be resolved, warning that "the risks are still staring at us, especially in the presence of security chaos".
