President Moncef Marzouki called on the Bar Association to contribute to the construction of the rule of law and institutions and materialisation of the democratic process. At the closing session, on Friday, of the training cycles held in Tunis by the National Bar Association, Mr. Marzouki paid tribute to the lawyers for their exemplary role in defending human rights, reminding in this connection the support they lend to the political prisoners. In spite of the shortcomings from which lawyers' action had suffered under the former regime, he said, it still remains true that this body had demonstrated its great ability to overcome the obstacles.
