Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated that he signed the state-funded program for socio-economic development of the Far East and the Baikal Region and urged to launch the implementation of the program. “I signed the state program and its implementation already began,” Medvedev said at a meeting devoted to socio-economic development of the Far East, the Republic of Buryatia, the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Irkutsk Region on Tuesday. “We cannot debate endlessly, we should begin working,” the prime minister stated. He noted that the just-signed program is “not a dogma.” “There are many difficulties in it, there are some internal problems, contradictions, but its essence is good,” the prime minister pointed out. “So, let’s do it, the program should be implemented and should result in a new quality of life in the Far East,” Medvedev underlined.
