
Kuwaiti Mercy International Association has dispatched aid including medical and school supplies for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, according to Chairman of the social society in Lebanon Ghasan Shahatha. Shahatha told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that many Syrian refugees had benefited from aid sent by different Kuwaiti charitable organizations, adding that the recent aid included repairing of damaged houses to shelter Syrian families in Al-Arkoub. According to recent statistics, the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon reached over 880,000, with the majority being in Al-Beqaa, Akkar, Tripoli, Al-Miniyeh and Al-Danniyeh District. Many Kuwaiti organizations including Kuwait Zakat house, Mercy International Association, International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), Social Reform Society and others, regularly send aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey.
