German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke over the phone today with Greek President Karolos Papoulias to discuss the current political crisis in Greece. German Government\'s Deputy Spokesman Georg Strenz said during the contact, the German Chancellor made it clear once again that Germany and European partners are in favour of the quick formation of a Greek government able to act after the re-election on 17 June. For its part, the German Ministry of Finance underlined that here will be re-negotiations with the Greeks on the agreed reforms, and assistance programmes worth billions of euros, calling on Greece to abide by the assistance programmes.
