Mexico investigates murder of 2 Spaniards

The judicial authorities of Mexico\'s northwestern state of Sinaloa on Sunday announced investigation into the murders of two Spanish citizens. According to Sinaloa\'s General Attorney\'s Office, bodies of the two Spaniards were found Saturday in a car sunk in a canal in Villa Adolfo Lopez Mateos, a town near Culiacan, capital city of Sinaloa state. It did not say whether the murders were drug related. The victims were identified as 58-year-old Fernando Carmona Romero and 50-year-old Jose Montoya Lozada. The prosecutor\'s office said the handcuffed bodies showed signs of torture with several high-caliber gunshots. Local media reported that the victims, who had been reportedly missing since May 5, were jackets sellers, rather than tourists. Sinaloa is home to Mexico\'s most powerful drug-trafficking organization \"Sinaloa Cartel.\"
