Mexico to restore order to south

The Mexican government has vowed to bring order to Mexico\'s southern region where unmonitored goods and travelers frequently cross the border. Every day, migrants cross the Suchiate River from Guatemala into the Mexican state of Chiapas, where they will either search for work, or continue on to the United States, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday. However, since 2008, about 10,000 migrants go missing in Mexico every year while trying to make their way north. In recent weeks, President Enrique Pena Nieto pledged to strengthen security at border crossings and set up more sophisticated \"internal control\" stations along commonly-used migration routes, to better monitor the movement of goods and people. The measures will \"ensure that [migrants] don\'t suffer,\" Nieto said.
