Prime Minister Najib Mikati met before noon today (Friday) at the Grand Serail, a delegation from the Supreme Islamic Council headed by the Vice President of the Council, former Minister Omar Masquaoui. "We discussed with the PM the call to convene a session for the Council tomorrow and I think that things are moving in the right direction," Masquaoui said after the meeting. Separately, Mikati met with former Minister Abdel Rahim Mrad. Both sides discussed regional and developmental affairs. The minister hoped to reach agreement on the Parliamentary electoral bill. Mikati met with Chairman of the Accounting Bureau Judge Awni Ramadan heading a delegation from the Court, in presence of the General Prosecutor at the Court Judge Fawzi Khamis. "We discussed the work of the bureau, especially as it suffers from the small number of observers, auditors and judges and we asked the PM's assistance in this matter," Ramadan said after the meeting. Also, we talked about the Telecommunication issue and the exchange of accusations between the Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui and MP Ghazi Youssef which the Bureau is following up with Prosecutor Judge Fawzi Khamis.
