
At least two policemen were killed and another was injured along with a civilian in an attack by the militants in eastern Rawalpindi city near Pakistani capital, said police on Monday. According to a senior police official, RPO Akhtar Hayat Lalika, the policemen were posted near an Imambargah (worship place of Shia sect) in Rawalpindi's Dhoke Syedan area where they were performing their duties when they came under attack from unknown motorcycle riding gunmen. "It apparently seems to be a sectarian attack, we are investigating it," the RPO said. Three policemen and a civilian were injured in the attack, which were shifted to the nearby hospital. Two of the policemen succumbed to their injuries in the district headquarters hospital whereas the condition of the two other wounded person was reported critical. Earlier this month, a powerful blast in Gracy Line area of Rawalpindi city killed at least three people, including two policemen.
