Militants\'attacks drop down in Afghanistan

Anti-government militants\'attacks have dropped down in Afghanistan over the past three months, spokesman of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Brigadier General Gunter Katz, said Tuesday. \"Enemy initiated attacks over the last three months are 5 percent lower compared to the same quarter last year,\" Katz said in his regular weekly press briefing, adding after rising in the months of May and June, enemy-initiated attacks continued to drop through September. \"These attacks decreased 4 percent in January through September 2012 compared to the same period in 2011,\" the ISAF spokesman added. However, he did not count the attacks carried out by Taliban militants or associated insurgent groups since January this year or over the past three months. Reaffirming its firm commitment in war on militants, the spokesman said,\"Together with our Afghan partners we continue our campaign which is on track and will lead to a more secure, peaceful and stable Afghanistan.\"
