Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari arrived in Paris this evening to participate in the annual celebrations in France, organized by horse racings under the title 'Arc de Triomphe' in its 90th edition as part of opera award and DeRoyal award, which will take place on Longchamp track in Paris from 1st to 2nd October next month. This participation comes within the framework of relations between Qatar and France in all fields, and comes within efforts to promote the bonds of friendship between the two countries in all fields of culture. Director of Culture and Arts at the Ministry Faleh Alajlan Al Hajri said that the participation of Qatar in this major annual event is a great opportunity to further enhance the strong ties that binds France and Qatar. Thanks to modern and advanced equipment the Racing and Equestrian Club is considered one of the best training centers for horses in the world, he added. Horse races are held on Thursdays during the period from October to May, when 40 races are held annually. He added that the State of Qatar is participating in this event with a 30-member delegation who will take part in many activities, including traditional ones such as Gulf dance known as Ardha among other activities.
