Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar said here on Saturday the current circumstances provide a suitable environment for trafficking drugs via Syria or investing them at home. The minister was quoted by Syria's official news agency (SANA) as saying a number of drug smugglers and dealers have been arrested recently, adding that the ministry is doing its utmost to curb this serious phenomenon. He added that security forces would continue to work alongside the Armed Forces to combat "terrorism" until security and stability are restored to all of Syria. Al-Shaar said that the Arab and foreign terrorists arrested in Syria are subject to Syria's laws. He affirmed determination to combating "terrorism", saying "nothing will dissuade us from carrying out our duties towards our homeland and people to the fullest."
