
Foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar met, Wednesday in Marrakech, with a delegation of U.S. MPs of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), currently on a visit to Morocco . In a statement to the press after the meeting with the delegation led by Marcia L. Fudge, President of the CBC, Mezouar stressed that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the role played by Morocco in various fields as well as ways to strengthen and further relations between Morocco and the United States. The visit comes following recent talks between Moroccan and U.S. officials in Washington on the occasion of the visit of HM King Mohammed VI to the United States and the meeting between the Sovereign and U.S. President Barack Obama, he said, adding that this initiative is part of the implementation of the program agreed between the two countries to consolidate their historical ties. Mezouar stressed the common desire of both parties to give new impetus and strategic dimension to bilateral relations.
