Mozambique, China happy with cooperation

Visiting Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhai Jun has said in Maputo that the Chinese government is satisfied with the state of the bilateral cooperation between China and Mozambique. Zhai, who in on a three-day working visit to Mozambique starting Thursday, told reporters after arrived in Maputo said that he believes the relations can be extended to more areas with deeper content. \"I was in Mozambique for the first time five years ago and I have noted that there have been great changes,\" said Zhai. He also stated that in all corners there is an image of vitality, and potential for development. According to him, friendship between China and Mozambique is solid and, despite the international situation, it will continue to be so. The aim of the visit by Zhai to the African country to assess bilateral relations, and analyze implementation of the results of the Firth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which was held in July in Beijing. Currently the main areas of cooperation between Mozambique and China are in infrastructures and training. China has financed several major building projects, including the new Maputo International Airport, and the national stadium, in the Maputo suburb of Zimpeto. The Asian nation also cooperate with Mozambique in the health sector. During his stay, Zhai is also to meet Prime Minister Alberto Vaquina.
