Muslim Brother should not have gone political

The grandson of Hassan al Banna, who founded the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood movement, said Egypt’s Brotherhood party should not have been involved in politics and has fallen into a trap which was set for them. In an interview with French newspaper, Le Parisien, Tarek Ramadan called on supporters to abandon the violence, and to stop the protests. He said the only way to save the Brotherhood now is by, “organising peaceful ?demonstrations,” however he said he didn’t trust them to do so. Ramadan said he wasn\'t surprised by the reaction in Egypt after former president and Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohammed Morsi was ousted from power.  What did surprise him, he said, was the violent response from security officials. He added, “I always had a cautious hope about the Arab Spring revolution, because I knew it ?would shake the stability in the region more than it would establish democracy”.
